Pichincha volcano
Another volcano near Quito is the Pichincha with its 4700 m.
I wanted to hike this mountain couple of days ago , but it was a little bit foggy and I decided to postpone this trek to the first sunny day. Then in the afternoon I checked the weather: rain all the week! Sad enough I almost though to leave the city the next day. But this morning, when I woke up, it was sunny. So after breakfast, I took a bus to get to the teleferico that would have brought me from 2800m to 4000m. From there, I hiked for few hours to get to the top at 4700m. I got there just in time, because 10 minutes after, clouds covered everything and in the distance I could hear thunderstorms. In the last month I hiked many times under the rain and I don't really like it. Let's say that I hate walking in the mud. So I just got up and started running down the mountain. On my way down, my visual was limited to few metres. All the rest was white. I arrived to the teleferico just in time to avoid the rain! But besides this, the hike was really good and the landscape was amazing till the top.
From this mirador in a clear day you can see 3 volcanos
